a great day in Indiana
Had a great day in Indiana with the Shehorn/Whitlock/Pittmans!! Started the day off by strolling the Saturday morning market. I was quite impressed with the vendors! Loads of fresh fruit and veggies - blueberries galore - a couple of really good breadsmiths, cookies, crepes coffee, tea and fun jewelry and such. I bought a good assortment of goodies - cinnamon bread, pain au chocolate, cinnamon/sugar crepe fresh off the grille, one of those rosemary flatbreads (shown in photo below) that is amazing and a little "Y" scrabble tile that has been made into a pendant.
Back to the homestead and off to the Indiana Dunes. It was a whopping 90 degrees with nothing but blue skies and the occasional puffy cloud. The long walk from the parking lot to the shore was brutal because the sand was unbelievably hot. I mean H O T !! We met Holly's friend Nikki and her adorable son, set up camp and enjoyed the scene. Jeff built a sand creature, Bella swam like crazy and searched for underwater treasures, Nikki's son tried desperately to remove his loose tooth and the girls just lounged soaking up the sun.
The last two photos are of a little guy that was trying to surf along the shoreline with his cool lifeguard board. His look was just "cracking" me up ... youth is bliss!
