Sloane was really chatting us up and making super cute little faces, I just had to capture a little of that on video. Photos are fabulous, but sometimes you just need to see life in motion.
Made my first cinemagr.am today - kind of fun!
{ 8mm iPhone app + iMovie app }
a little film about the loire valley.
I can't say enough about my time spent at Le Moulin Brégeon -- the wonderful people I met, the nutella crepes I ate, the pine forests I walked through, the hilarious songs we danced to. It was the kind of experience I'll be dreaming about forever.
I have been following Olivia's blog for some time now and LOVE the videos she makes of her everyday life happenings. I love the simplicity and slightly vintage feel and she always has the best music. I wish I knew how she does it.
Took a quick video of the book I made from my February trip to Hawaii. Made the book via Photobooks - a groupon I had purchased. I think the quality of the paper is nice (matte!), the print quality of the photos is just as good as any of the other photo books I've made (My Publisher, iPhoto, Blurb) and you can't even tell the iPhone photos from the DSLR photos!
The software was actually one of the easier ones that I've tried and lots of template options. Oh and it's fully customizable - you can change the shape of any photo box, place text anywhere and use your own fonts!
I am pretty happy with how it turned out, I took a risk with the cover and chose indigo silk with photo inset. Don't love that at all. The silk is OK, but the photo inset is glued down on top of the silk and looks crappy. I would rather have a hole through the cover to the front page, or the photo should be properly inset. And for some reason the dust cover pages are a little wrinkly ... not sure why. I give it a B+ overall.
This takes my breath away.
Be sure to visit the Vimeo link to read about the making of the video.

the archipelago Lofoten in Norway." by TSO Photography
Playing with the 8mm iPhone app (and adding music via iPhoto = bad) while sunburning at the edge of the water with the ocean waves lapping at my feet... Ahhh!
P.S. This song is Bethany's ringtone and this video was shot at her favorite little beach. You can see why it's a favorite. One could really get used to this...My coworkers are no fun at all... can you tell? Well back in October, we were sitting in the park having gelato from one of our favorite local cafes (Linz & Vail), it was an unseasonably warm day and Mark thought we should remember that day by coming back in February. You know February is one of the coldest months in Chicago. So, today was that day. Gelato in the park. In the snow.
We thought we should capture the fun on film. As we were paying I noticed these pinwheels and thought they would really make the photo that much more, you know... nothing like a good prop no? So we purchased one, and borrowed three more to head out to the park. Mark even talked another patron into coming with us to take a group photo.
This is the photo of four silly Forcade workerbees. Don't you agree the pinwheels were the perfect addition? Totally makes this shot! And who could resist twirling? Poor Barbara about bit it.
Like I said ... no fun at all.
One of my coworkers shot this video with my iPhone while I was driving them to the train tonight. I think it came out pretty awesome because it's completely out of focus! Brilliant that he didn't know how to focus my iPhone (droid boy!) Well done SparkleBomb! I even gave it a little Bombay Dub Orchestra for ya!
