Can anyone tell me what you have to do to get your photos seen on Flickr? I mean really? I used to have a ton of visitors to my stream and now it's a few hit or misses from my current contacts. I get a random add of a new contact, but rarely any comments. I have not had one photo in "explore" for the last year and a half, maybe more. How does that work? I think my work has gotten better, so why was it more recognized in the early day?
I will admit I'm not super involved in groups or commenting on other streams, but do check from time to time and comment/fav when something really stands out. I've hit explore a few times during my last visits and it seems to be all the same streams OR completely random crap. Is there some algorithm that pulls this stuff?
The above image was uploaded last night. I received one comment & fav from one contact and it has been viewed eight, yes, EIGHT times. How is that possible? I mean, I know it's because only my contacts are looking at my stream, but how is that possible?
I don't ask these questions because I need recognition or validation, but I simply find it odd that the activity on my stream has come to a complete halt. I miss seeing what people have to say. That's why I joined Flickr in the first place - I learn from my peers. Now it seems that Flickr is nothing more than another version of photo sharing.
Maybe I should blame it on social media. : )
